With the closing of two hotels in Omonia (Acropol and Fashion House 2) and the risk of two more vacant buildings added to downtown Athens, Athens Mayor George Kaminis requested from the Education Ministry to consider using the two buildings as student halls of residence, reports said.

The Louis Group to Set Up Greek Cruise Line

Cyprus-based Louis Cruise Lines announced last month that it would have a new company set up and running cruises out of Piraeus by March of next year. The first ships, Calypso and Ithaki, will execute three- four- and seven-day cruises out of Piraeus.

Superfast And Costa Crociere Alliance

Attica Enterprises, the holding company for Superfast Ferries, and cruise company Costa Crociere, owned by Carnival Cruise Lines, signed signed a letter of intent to create two joint ventures in cruise and ferry operations.
