Holidaymakers to Greece in 2014 spent 2.5 billion euros on their credit cards, up by 15 percent, according to the latest figures released during a recent VISA Hellas event titled “Growth Through Innovation”.
Greek tourism authorities are urging travelers to pay in plastic as a way to fight tax evasion, which has been taking a toll on the ailing Greek economy for decades.
