Athens Mayor Giorgos Kaminis and Communist Party Secretary of Beijing Cai Qi have agreed to jointly work towards promoting tourism initiatives in the two cities.
The strengthening of tourism cooperation between Greece and China is a priority in the tourism ministry's strategy, according to Tourism Minister Elena Kountoura.
The potential to attract Greek tourists to Beijing and also increase the number of Chinese visitors to Athens was recently discussed by representatives of the Beijing Municipal Commission Tourism Development and officials of the Municipality of Athens.
Some 2,000 Athenians felt the charm of Chinese music and also may have become a bit more eager to travel to Beijing and experience the city's unique culture, after attending a recent concert that connected China to Greece at the Megaron Athens Concert Hall.
