The 2nd Panhellenic Place Marketing and Place Branding Conference is organised by the Department of Planning and Regional Development of University of Thessaly in collaboration with the Municipality of Larissa. The conference will be held in two venues in Larissa town, the Mill of Pappas and OUHL Municipal Theatre.
Cities worldwide are trying to improve their image and reputation with place-marketing and place-branding practices, aiming to attract new residents, tourists and investors and enhance civic pride. This tendency is accompanied by the quest of a theoretical framework and methodological tools enabling the design and evaluation of appropriate strategies, all leading to highly interesting debates within the academy and at regional and local level.
In Greece, as elsewhere, city authorities and decision makers are looking for ways to improve the promotion of their respective locality. In March 2012, the 1st Panhellenic Place Marketing and Place Branding Conference was held in Volos, with great success and positive impact. The 2nd Conference aims to continue in this effort, inviting academics, members of regional and local administrations, practitioners and decision makers to present their knowledge and experience in this field.
Alongside to the conference a rich program of parallel events will be held in the city of Larissa. Find out more information & details here.
