ATHENS MARATHON. THE AUTHENTIC.
The 32nd Athens Marathon 2014 event will attract record-breaking numbers of participants this year.
The success of the Athens Marathon 2014 event and its recognition among the Greek and international running community has led to impressive numbers, uncomparable to anything of the past: 35,000 runners from across the globe will do their best to reach the finish line at Athens Panathenian Stadium.
Some 2,200 volunteers, the oldest being 86 and the youngest 12, will be on hand to offer assistance to the runners, their families and support teams in order to ensure a smooth-running event. Also, over 500 police officers will offer their services to ensure safety and traffic management and a medical staff of 150 members will be on call to assist and provide services for anything unexpected related to the health of participants and spectators.
Overall, over 5,000 individuals will be involved in the Athens Marathon 2014 event to endure that all 35,000 runners and their 55,000 friends and family members will enjoy an exceptional race.
