10 Urban Roof: Radisson Blu Park Opens New Culinary Destination in Athens
The Radisson Blu Park Hotel recently made a stunning addition to Athens’ hospitality offering with the opening of the 10 Urban Roof restaurant bar.
Perched appropriately ten floors above the city, the 10 Urban Roof promises a brand new experience in the city’s restaurant bar scene with upbeat music and great vibes.
“The 10 Urban Roof is on the tenth floor of the hotel, which is located at 10, Alexandras Avenue… We aspire for it to be a small ‘escape’ from the city but… in the city,” said Radisson Blu Park Hotel CEO Mari Deverikou while welcoming guests to the restaurant’s grand opening on September 14.

Urban nature concept
The urban nature concept of the 10 Urban Roof reflects the hotel’s philosophy of an urban nature-themed decor in its lobby and common areas, inspired by the adjacent Pedion tou Areos, one of Athens’ largest parks.
The design of the 10 Urban Roof was carried out by Afroditi Bonatsou, director of Athens-based Stones and Walls design firm, and offers a strong summer feel. The setting includes natural trees, an exotic swimming pool, a tropical bar and a stunning view of the city no matter where one looks: on one side is the Pedion tou Areos park, on the other is Lycabettus Hill and then, in the middle, is the Acropolis.
“I believe we succeeded in bringing urban nature, which is the hotel’s general concept, to the 10th level,” Deverikou said.
The menu of 10 Urban Roof offers a fusion of Mediterranean and Asian flavors, led by renowned chef, Hervé Pronzato, who is no stranger to the Radisson Blu Park Hotel.
Casual elegant menu & handcrafted cocktails
“We had a collaboration with Hervé between 2004 and 2009… Since then he traveled to various countries in the East and now brings us a casual elegant menu,” Deverikou said, highlighting that gastronomy is a key element of the city’s tourism product.
“Athens saw some 8 million tourists this year… This number has been achieved by many factors with its cultural heritage at the forefront… But the city also has a lot to show regarding restaurants and bars… Everything the city offers is relevant,” she added.
A distinguished chef and one of the most creative that has passed through the Greek culinary scene, Hervé Pronzato uses Greek raw materials with Asian influences in his creations. Among the menu’s top picks are the rib eye with wild mushrooms, Jerusalem artichoke puree and potato terrine in Porto sauce, risotto with white asparagus, guanciale, pecorino and hazelnuts or sea bass in coconut sauce with lemon, coriander and avocado cream.
Turning to the rainforest-concept bar, Dimitris Papaioannou, also known as the “guru” of cocktails, is in charge of the menu that includes exciting signature drinks with handcrafted liqueurs and jams.
Upgraded location
Operating since 1976, the 160-room Radisson Blu Park Hotel, Athens, has become a “destination” within the Greek capital.
“The hotel, which in two years turns 50, has left its imprint on history and over time… In addition to being a place of hospitality, in which we constantly invest in and improve, it is also a place of art, as we host periodical exhibitions, and a place of gastronomy,” Deverikou said, highlighting the hotel’s location in an area that has seen a major upgrade in recent years.
“Our area in recent years has been upgraded greatly and includes the ‘Green Park’ all-day venue inside the Pedion tou Areos park and the open-air Alsos Theater where great plays are held… These touches contributed to the area’s upgrade and we decided to do our part and revamp our ‘space’ and bring the 10 Urban Roof to Athens’ visitors and residents… All of this adds to the hospitality experience,” she concluded.
A member of the Radisson Hotel Group, the five-star Radisson Blu Park Hotel, Athens, offers easy access to the city’s iconic sites such as the Acropolis, and districts, like Plaka and Monastiraki, as well as a number of museums. Indoor parking is available.
