Salonica Restaurant Adds Another Golden Chef’s Cap Award to its Collection
The Salonica Restaurant of the Makedonia Palace Hotel in Thessaloniki was awarded the Golden Chef’s Cap for the third consecutive year.
The award, which is given by the Athinorama and AlphaGuide magazines, recognizes restaurants in Greece for their excellence in high cuisine.
The Salonica Restaurant is headed by Chef Sotiris Evangelou, who has been praised for his creative and innovative take on Greek cuisine. The restaurant’s menu features dishes made with fresh, seasonal ingredients from all over Greece.
“It is a great pleasure and honor to be recognized once again for our efforts in creating a gastronomic experience that exceeds our customers’ expectations,” said Chef Evangelou. “This award is a recognition of our dedication to the art of cooking and our love for Greek cuisine,” he added.
In addition to its award-winning food, the Salonica Restaurant also offers a unique view of Thermaikos Gulf and Mount Olympus. The restaurant has a modern and elegant interior, with a large open kitchen that allows diners to watch the chefs at work.
The Golden Chef’s Cap is awarded to restaurants that score at least 15 out of 20 points in a blind tasting by a panel of food experts. The Salonica Restaurant is one of only 39 restaurants in Greece that received a Golden Chef’s Cap in 2023 and the only one in Thessaloniki.
