Athens to Donate Proceeds from Lykavittos Concert to Flood Victims

The Municipality of Athens has announced that it will donate all proceeds from the upcoming Stavros Xarchakos concert at the new Municipal Lykavittos Theater to the victims of the devastating floods in Thessaly.
The concert, which will mark the reopening of the iconic theater after 15 years, is scheduled for Friday, September 15.
“It is the least we can do at this time. We are sending a message of solidarity to all these people who are going through difficult times,” said Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis.
“This will only be the beginning of our contribution,” he added.
Collection of school supplies for students in Thessaly
In addition to the donation from the concert’s tickets, the Municipality of Athens is also organizing a collection of school supplies for distribution to Thessaly’s students that have been affected by the floods. The municipality will collect supplies on Saturday, September 16, from 10:00 to 16:00, in collaboration with the “Oloi Mazi Mporoume” organization.
The collection points will be the City of Athens Reception and Solidarity Center (KYADA) located at 35 Pireos Street and 66 Sofokleous Street, and the City Of Athens Social Assistance Mall near the Larissis Train Station.
The Municipality of Athens is in contact with institutional representatives of the local government in Thessaly in order to undertake further solidarity initiatives once the needs of the flood victims have been specified.
