TIF-Helexpo, the organizer of the 87th Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF), announced Sunday that it will donate 10 percent of the event’s proceeds to support the victims of the recent floods in Thessaly and the fires in Evros.
The donation, which is expected to amount to a minimum of 100,000 euros, will be used to support those who have been affected by the disasters, including those who have lost their homes, businesses and loved ones.
The 87th TIF, which opened its doors on Saturday, will run until September 17 at the Thessaloniki Exhibition Centre. The event will feature over 1,500 exhibitors from around the world, as well as a variety of cultural events, including concerts, fashion shows, and educational workshops. Bulgaria is the exhibition’s honored country.
According to TIF-Helexpo, the concerts program of the 87th TIF will be dedicated to the victims of the floods and fires.
The first concert will take place on Monday, September 11, with Alkistis Protopsaltis taking the stage. Other popular Greek artists performing at the concerts include Theodoris Ferris and Josephine, Glykeria and Melina Aslanidou, Kostas Makedonas and Eleni Tsaligopoulou, Michalis Hatzigiannis, Petros Iakovidis and Ivi Adamou. On Wednesday, September 13, a special Tina Turner tribute concert from West End London is also scheduled.
The public can attend the concerts free of charge with a ticket for the 87th TIF.
TIF-Helexpo, which is Greece’s national exhibition body, encourages everyone to visit the exhibition and support its initiative to help the victims of the floods and fires.
