UK Outbound Travel to Greece Soars 62% for Autumn Half-Term
A new report from ForwardKeys shows that UK outbound travel to Greece is soaring for the upcoming Autumn Half-Term holiday period. More specifically, year-to-date tickets issued for travel to Greece are currently 62 percent ahead of the comparative period in 2019 and 37 percent ahead of last year.
This makes Greece the top performing destination for UK outbound travel in the Autumn Half-Term, followed by Spain (+43 percent), Italy (+15 percent), and Portugal (+41 percent).
The report also shows that UK outbound travel overall is 6 percent behind the comparative period in 2019 but 37 percent ahead of last year. This is being driven by a strong recovery in intra-regional travel, which is up 30 perent year-on-year.
The report also found that British holidaymakers are booking with longer anticipation this year, compared with both 2019 and 2022. 31 percent of departures year-to-date had a 90+ day booking window, compared with just 24 percent in 2019 and 28 percent in 2022.
“The data shows that British holidaymakers are feeling more confident about booking their holidays in advance this year. This is a positive sign for the travel industry, and we expect to see continued growth in UK outbound travel in the coming months,” said ForwardKeys Head of Research Luis Millan.
Good news however to keep uk travellers coming back domethibg has to be done about the bottleneck bot in and out at Border Control. My wife and I waited over an hour at Kos.
