KLM Introduces New World Business Class Seats Aboard B777 Fleet
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines recently introduced new World Business Class seats aboard its B777 fleet, featuring sliding doors that ensure greater comfort and privacy.
According to a company announcement, all new KLM World Business Class (WBC) seats will be in a 1-2-1 configuration offering passengers direct access to the aisle, more personal adjustment options and user-friendly functionality, including an adjustable lower-back support and a relax setting with a subtle back-massage feature. In addition, the seats can recline fully flat to form a comfortable, 198cm-long bed.
Other amenities include easily accessible multiple charging sockets; a wireless charging option; a lockable compartment with a built-in mirror and a recessed bottle holder, so that passengers can safely leave a water bottle on their tabletop, even during turbulence.
“Our new seats are better in terms of design, technology and sustainability features,” said KLM’s EVP Customer Experience Boet Kreiken.
The seats and their fittings are 10-15 percent lighter than other business class seats in this market segment, adhering to KLM’s sustainability objectives.
The company’s World Business Class Services, like the catering concept and SkyPriority, remain unchanged.
According to Kreiken, the airline now meets “a wide array of its passengers’ wishes with the new seats in World Business Class, Premium Comfort, Economy Comfort and Economy Class.”
KLM’s entire Boeing 777-300 and 200 fleet will be fitted with the new World Business Class seats. This fleet will also be fitted with the latest Premium Comfort cabin. The full revamp will be completed during the course of the coming year.
