High demand for Greece – Crete and Rhodes in particular – has prompted Munich-based FTI Group to strengthen its presence in 2023, adding flight connections in the winter and growing incoming agency Meeting Point Hellas’ portfolio.
Chief Product Officer for Short & Mid-haul at FTI, Jan Mayer, said demand for Greek island holidays was higher compared to pre-Covid 2019. “Therefore, we will extend the 2023 summer season with selected hotel partners on Crete and Rhodes until mid-November,” he said.

On Crete, the group offers 350 weekly connections from 50 airports in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and the Netherlands. FTI held its annual Touristik Vertriebsgesellschaft (TVG) conference on the island last month.
Halina Strzyzewska, strategic destination officer for Greece at FTI said the company would be increasing flight capacity in the autumn to meet the growing demand.

In addition to Crete, FTI is also planning to boost connections to smaller islands such as Zakynthos and Skiathos and to take advantage of Araxos Airport in the Peloponnese, to accommodate tourism to Olympia and Patra.
Additionally, Meeting Point Hellas, FTI group’s destination management agency, will be expanding its portfolio. “We are already seeing higher demand from our international guests than at the same time in 2022. Due to the very good bookings, especially for the islands of Rhodes, Corfu and Crete, we expect a strong push for the coming months,” said Mario Habig, CEO DMCs FTI Group.
