Athenian Riviera to Welcome Mandarin Oriental Hotel
The first Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Athens is set to open at The Ellinikon on the Athenian Riviera in the summer of 2027 after the group finalized a partnership deal with developers Lamda Development and TEMES SA.
Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group and Belt Riviera SA, a subsidiary of TEMES and Hellinikon SMSA, signed an agreement for the management of Mandarin Oriental, Athens – which will include a new hotel and luxury branded residences to be developed on the coastal front of The Ellinikon.
“This new high-standard hotel complex will become another aesthetically superior landmark and serve as an additional international point of reference for this emblematic investment of The Ellinikon,” Lamda Development CEO Odisseas Athanasiou.
Plans for the Mandarin Oriental Athens investment include the creation of a 5-star, 123-room and -suite hotel and 17 luxury branded residences, with views to the Saronic Gulf and direct access to the sea. Among others, the hotel aims to offer high-quality hospitality, multiple dining options and leisure facilities as well as indoor and outdoor event spaces for meetings and social gatherings minutes from the Agios Kosmas Marina. Additionally, guests will also be able to enjoy the group’s signature wellness therapies and beauty treatments at the Mandarin Oriental spa.
Commenting on the agreement, TEMES SA Chairman Achilles V. Constantakopoulos welcomed the exceptional brand to the Athenian Riviera.
“We are delighted to be working with TEMES SA and Lamda Development on this project. I am confident, that with this location and our legendary service, Mandarin Oriental, Athens will be the leading luxury hospitality hub for both travelers and Athenian residents,” said James Riley, Group chief executive Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group.
Earlier this year, the group announced the opening of the first Mandarin Oriental hotel in Greece at Costa Navarino, in the Peloponnese validating the group’s confidence in Greece as a continuously growing high-end destination.
