Travel Experts Place Three Greek Beaches on World’s Best 2023 List
Three Greek beaches – Navagio, Myrtos and Balos – are included on the World’s 50 Best Beaches list announced recently by Banana Boat, a renowned sunscreen production company with 40 years of experience.
What sets The World’s 50 Best Beaches 2023 apart from other lists is that it is based on the votes of Beach Ambassadors and numerous seasoned travel influencers, journalists, editors, and agents.
“With the firsthand experiences and expertise of these industry leaders, this list is regarded as the most trustworthy and accurate compilation of the world’s finest beaches to date,” said Banana Boat’s Associate Manager of PR & Brand Partnerships Brianna Bostick.
The ranking of beaches on the list took into account five key criteria: untouched natural beauty, remoteness, swimming suitability, annual days of sunshine, and average annual temperature.
Among the distinguished Greek entries, Navagio beach on Zakynthos claimed the impressive 9th position globally, while Kefalonia’s Myrtos beach secured the 32nd spot, and Balos beach on Crete was recognized as the 44th best beach worldwide.
In terms of Europe’s Best Beaches, Navagio beach excelled, claiming the 2nd place, followed closely by Myrtos at 6th and Balos at 10th.
Other remarkable Greek entries included Elafonissi at 19th, Porto Katsiki at 25th, Red beach at 40th, Seychelles beach at 44th, and Sarakiniko at 45th.
The top three beaches that emerged as the World’s Best Beaches for 2023 were Lucky Bay in Australia, Anse Source D’Argent in the Seychelles, and Hidden Beach in the Philippines. These extraordinary destinations surpassed popular beach favorites that are often heavily promoted by tourism boards.
