Polish TV to Show Rhodes as Ideal Family-friendly Destination
Polish state television TVP’s popular weekly travel show “Travels of the Little and the Big” is set to feature the Greek island of Rhodes as an ideal family-friendly destination.
The show’s presenter, Monika Witkowska, recently visited the Greek island, accompanied by her husband and 4-year-old daughter. The trip was organized by the Greek National Tourism Organization’s (GNTO) Polish branch in cooperation with the Municipality of Rhodes and local businesses, with the aim of promoting the island as a destination for family tourism.
During her visit, Witkowska explored Rhodes’ historic Medieval Town and the Acropolis of Lindos, as well as its beautiful beaches, traditional villages, and family-friendly activities such as hiking, cycling, and horse riding. She also visited the Rhodes Farm, the Butterfly Valley, and the Rhodes Hydrobiological Station, and sampled the island’s local gastronomy.
The episode, which will be 20 minutes long, will showcase the many options that Rhodes offers to visitors, especially families with children. Witkowska has previously travelled with her family to many countries around the world, presenting useful information to facilitate family trips to these destinations.
Rhodes has become increasingly popular among Polish travelers in recent years. In 2022, the island saw 167,525 arrivals of Polish tourists, ranking them third in terms of international visitors to the island, according to official data from the International Airport “Diagoras” of Rhodes.
The “Travels of the Little and the Big” episode with Rhodes will broadcast in early 2024.
Excerpts of the episode have already been shown in other TV shows of the same channel, with Witkowska appearing as a guest, discussing her travel experiences in Greece. The broadcast of the full episode is expected to further boost Rhodes’ profile among Polish tourists, highlighting the island’s attractions as a family-friendly destination.
