Maye Musk Explores Greece’s Luxury Tourism Potential
Maye Musk explored ways Greece could evolve into a top luxury tourism destination during the 1st International Luxury Tourism Conference held on Santorini in late April.
The famous mother of one of the world’s most controversial figures – Tesla architect, twitter CEO and entrepreneur Elon Musk – spoke during the “The Luxury Side of Greece” conference co-organized by Thira Municipality and Update Entertainment.
Besides speaking about her projects and vision, the 75-year-old Musk contributed to the promotion of Greece through her twitter account on which she shared photos of Santorini from inside a yacht and beside a Tesla.
“A day trip exploring Santorini in a Tesla and on a boat, Love Greece,” said Musk, who has visited the country and several islands before, praising Greek hospitality.

Among others, during the event, Musk presented her latest best-selling book “A Woman Makes A Plan”.
In addition to Musk, the 1st International Luxury Tourism Conference welcomed prominent speakers, government officials and business people active in tourism as well as international media representatives.
Also speaking during in the conference, MEP Eliza Vozemberg said increasing Greece’s share in the global luxury market valued at 150 billion euros is the next step for tourism and the Greek economy.
The Santorini event, aimed at increasing the visibility of Greece and promoting it as an up-and-coming luxury travel destination, was held with the support of the Greek Tourism Ministry, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and the University of the Aegean.
