Thessaloniki Tourism Organization Celebrates Success at Tourism Awards 2023
The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) gave an impressive performance at this year’s Tourism Awards, securing one Platinum, three Gold, and two Bronze awards at the awards ceremony held on Thursday at the Grand Hyatt Athens.
For the past ten years the Tourism Awards are considered a prestigious event in the tourism industry, honoring pioneers and innovators in Greek tourism. The awards recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed to the development of quality tourism with best practices that highlight excellence and leadership in the industry.
According to the TTO, this year’s awards were particularly meaningful for Thessaloniki and the organization, as they recognized the persistence, courage, passion, and vision that went into promoting the city as a top tourism destination.
The Tourism Awards 2023 winners were announced following evaluations by a jury panel that consisted of acclaimed tourism professionals, academics, international experts, journalists and business consultants.
The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization was awarded the following accolades:
- Platinum Award, for managing and strengthening Thessaloniki as a destination.
- Gold Award, for promoting Thessaloniki’s gastronomy.
- Gold Award, for producing the “Tourist in my City” video in collaboration with travel vlogger Eftychis Bletsas.
- Gold Award, for TTO’s strong presence at SoMe.
- Bronze Award, for the TTO’s marketing approach to the UK market.
- Bronze Award, for organizing Fam & Press Trips.
The awards were accepted by the TTO’s President Voula Patoulidou, the TTO’s Deputy President and Thessaloniki’s Deputy Mayor of Tourism Maria Karagianni, the TTO Treasurer and Vice-President of the Professional Chamber of Thessaloniki, Chrysa Granouzi, and the presenter-producer of the Happy Traveler TV show Eftychis Bletsas.
The Tourism Awards are held annually under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), Marketing Greece, and the Hellenic Chamber of Hotels.
