Korean Air Resumes Charter Flights to Greece After Three-year Hiatus
Seoul-based airline Korean Air will soon carry out charter flights to Greece following a three-year suspension due to the pandemic.
The announcement was made last week by a high-level delegation of Korean Air in Athens.
Serving the world for more than 50 years, Korean Air is one of the world’s top 20 airlines and the flag carrier of South Korea, carrying more than 27 million passengers in 2019, pre-covid.
While in Athens, Korean Air’s delegation attended a series of scheduled meetings with representatives from both the government and the tourism industry. The primary focus of the discussions was the resumption of charter flights to Greece. After a three-year break, charter flights between Seoul and Athens will be re-established with five flights scheduled for May 2023.
It should be mentioned that following a previous announcement on the resumption of flights to four major European destinations – Prague, Zurich, Istanbul, and Madrid – Korean Air has now confirmed the restoration of all flights to European cities. The airline will connect Europe and Seoul through direct daily flights via Paris, Amsterdam, London, Frankfurt, and Rome. Additionally, Korean Air will operate direct flights on a less frequent basis to Vienna, Prague, Barcelona, Milan, Madrid, Zurich, and Budapest.
With its global hub at Incheon International Airport (ICN), the airline serves 120 cities in 43 countries on five continents with a modern fleet of 155 aircraft and over 20,000 professional employees.
