GNTO and Athens Officials Discuss Attica Tourism Promotion
Attica’s and Athens’ tourism promotion were the focus of recent working meetings held by Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) President Angela Gerekou with local officials and business trade representatives.
Gerekou, accompanied by Athens Chamber of Tradesmen President Yiannis Hatzitheodosiou, met with Attica Governor Giorgos Patoulis at the Region’s headquarters and discussed ways to promote and support Attica’s tourism-related businesses.
Furthermore, the two officials examined possible joint actions to further promote the region as a culture destination.

“GNTO’s main priority is to highlight Attica’s comparative advantages as a tourism and culture destination,” said Gerekou.
Following her meeting with Patoulis, GNTO President also met with Athens Mayor Kostas Bakoyannis to discuss the development of a promotional strategy that will encourage future visitors to explore the city and discover the “hidden gems” located in lesser-known central areas of the Greek capital.
With the cooperation of all relevant agencies, this GNTO initiative is expected to help promote and strengthen the tourism and commercial businesses of Attica and contribute to the overall development of the region.
