Ten Greek Hotels Receive 2023 Forbes Travel Guide Star Awards

The four Greek 5-Star rated hotels (clockwise starting top left): Katikies Mykonos, Katikies Santorini, Andronis Luxury Suites and Four Seasons Astir Palace Hotel Athens.
Ten Greek hotels located in Athens and on Corfu, Mykonos and Santorini have been included in the recently released Forbes Travel Guide’s 2023 Star Awards list of winners.
Founded in the US in 1958 as the Mobil Guide, Forbes Travel Guide is considered the oldest travel guide in the US and its star rating service offers a coveted certification mark to tourism related businesses across the globe.
To compile its 65th annual Star Awards, Forbes Travel Guide’s incognito inspectors checked into hotels and cruise ships, dined in restaurants and experienced spa services while posing as ordinary guests.
The inspectors tested up to 900 rigorous standards, from modern-day luxuries—such as whether a room is set up to enhance sleep quality or whether the food-and-beverage choices support a guest’s well-being—to more traditional elements, such as the décor and the attention the staff pays to a guest.
Seventy percent of a property’s rating relies on its service—with a more exacting look at the guest experience as a new service metric for 2023—while the remaining 30 percent accounts for the quality and condition of its facilities.
