Hoteliers on Chios, Karpathos and Kasos have joined the “Greek Breakfast” program, a Hellenic Chamber of Hotels (HCH) initiative aimed at showcasing local Greek products through breakfast menus.
The news was announced during this year’s HORECA event. Visitors had the chance to sample local products from the three islands as part of the “Aromas and Tastes of the Aegean: A Delicious Journey from Chios to Karpathos and Kasos” held at the Greek Breakfast stand.

HCH Vice President and head of the Greek Breakfast program, Aris Soulounias welcomed Chios, Kasos and Karpathos to the ‘Greek Breakfast family’, and said that the program was also creating ‘culinary portfolios’ as “ambassadors of local cuisines”.
“We are moving into a new period of extroversion for the program. We aim to modernize its identity and image so that it becomes an enticing ‘product – experience’ for the tourist market with the aim of adding value to the business activity of Greek hoteliers,” he said.

Launched in 2012, “Greek Breakfast” promotes local Greek products through hotel breakfast menus while helping formulate and preserve the unique gastronomic identity of each destination through the collection of data. At the same time, the initiative supports local producers and boosts economic growth.
