The Isla Brown Corinthia hotel in Greece and Elastic Architects recently shined at the International Design Awards (IDA) 2022 and received a gold accolade in the Architecture/Hotels & Resorts Design category.
Founded by the Farmani Group in 2007, the IDA recognize, celebrate and promote design visionaries and emerging talent in architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion design.
Elastic Architects was applauded for the redesign of the iconic 1970s Hanikian hotel and its transformation into the Isla Brown Corinthia. Focused on the myth and topography of the Corinthian Gulf, Elastic Architects gave the rigid modernist building a new, organic form whose design emulates the lava fluidity inspired by its adjacency to the Sousaki volcano.

A member of the Brown Hotels Group portfolio, the Isla Brown Corinthia hotel was designed under an energy efficiency plan with its curved façade surfaces creating a visual brand language while also drawing inspiration from white sea pebbles. It offers 166 rooms, a sea view lobby, indoor bar, all-day restaurant, gym and spa, children’s park, as well as an infinity rooftop pool, among other amenities.
