Costa Navarino Kicks Off 2023 Tourism Season from February 19
Costa Navarino, a sustainably driven destination in the Mediterranean, located in Messinia in the southwest Peloponnese, Greece, will kick off the 2023 season with an expanded destination proposition that includes a new beachfront ultra-luxury hospitality offering and unrivalled experiences.
“2023 will be a milestone year for the destination, with its largest offering to date for its guests and residents,” Greek developer TEMES SA, the parent company of Costa Navarino, said in an announcement.
The season starts for Costa Navarino as of February 19 with the opening of The Westin Resort Costa Navarino, an ideal family and sports destination. Its four signature golf courses will open the next day on February 20 while the Mouratoglou Tennis Center, with 16 state of the art courts, will welcome tennis fans as of March.
Next to open will be the vibrant, lifestyle resort W Costa Navarino on April 5 in its full capacity of 246 rooms. The resort as of this year will feature new beachfront 3-bedroom villas and 2-bedroom suites with rooftop pools, an event space, as well as engaging entertainment programming which celebrates inclusivity and diversity.
Less than 10 days later, the authentic luxury setting of The Romanos, a Luxury Collection Resort, will welcome guests (from April 13). The hotel’s distinctive environment features a collection of premium Ionian Exclusive Suites and Villas, which benefit from personalized butler service and amenities, while offering total privacy and direct beachfront access.
Costa Navarino welcomes Mandarin Oriental’s first Greek property
Summer 2023 will mark the highly anticipated Greek debut of Mandarin Oriental – one of the world’s most admired hotel brands – at Costa Navarino, adding to and complementing the existing premium hospitality offering.
The beachfront luxury Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino will feature 99 guest rooms, including 48 spacious earth-sheltered pool villas, all with outdoor terraces and breathtaking sea views, along with five restaurants and bars and a 1,500 m2 spa and fitness centre with a stunning 25m indoor-outdoor pool.
The resort is uniquely designed in alignment with the destination’s sustainable principles, featuring planted roofs blending into the natural topography of the land, while it will offer the legendary service for which the brand is renowned.
It will be located amidst a 140-hectare natural landscape at Navarino Bay, already home to the 18-hole signature Bay Course, with sweeping views across the historic bay of Navarino.
“With a total of four luxury resorts, four signature golf courses, private residences, more than 40 dining and entertainment venues, and an abundance of sports and entertainment experiences across its sites, Costa Navarino has established Messinia as a place to visit as well as to live,” TEMES said.
Unrivalled experiences
Guests at Costa Navarino this season can also expect to live unrivalled experiences at the destination’s Navarino Agora and new Watersports Hub.
Making its debut in April, the buzzing open marketplace Navarino Agora, located between Navarino Waterfront and Navarino Bay, will be open to all guests, residents and the general public. The marketplace will include a wide range of retail outlets, dining venues, street food options, an open-air cinema and an exciting event programme celebrating and showcasing the local culture and traditions.
- Watersports, kayak at Costa Navarino.
- SUP at Voidokilia beach, Costa Navarino.
In addition, a new Watersports Hub, located at Navarino Waterfront, will further add to Costa Navarino’s diverse offering, from April as well. The hub will offer a wide range of water sports such as windsurf, waterski, as well as kayaks and SUPs, while featuring state of the art equipment and training options.
A residential community comes to life
2023 will see the residential community of Costa Navarino Residences grow, as Navarino Dunes will welcome the first owners of Rolling Greens -the neighborhood which sold out within just a year since its launch in 2020- alongside the residents of the Sea Dunes and Olive Grove neighborhoods. Property owners are an integral part of the destination, embracing its core values of respect to the natural environment, local communities and heritage.
This year, Costa Navarino Residences will also present its new residential project in the Navarino Dunes resort area, called Valley Greens. Situated in a unique landscape overlooking the olive groves and lush Messinian vegetation as well as the Ionian Sea, it features a range of two-bedroom semi-detached villas through to four-bedroom detached villas, based on the ‘turn-key’ model.
Flights to Kalamata
Olympic Air – subsidiary of AEGEAN Airlines – will connect Kalamata to Athens International Airport (AIA) four times a week as of May 19, opening multiple international connections with the Star Alliance and AEGEAN network.
Additional new routes will include weekly flights by AEGEAN as of May 15 connecting Tel-Aviv to Kalamata, and weekly flights from Nantes, operated by Spanish airline Volotea, starting on May 30.
Located just 40 minutes away by car from Costa Navarino, Kalamata International Airport will welcome its first flight of the season on February 19 from Munich, followed by Stockholm and Copenhagen on February 25, all operated by AEGEAN.
