Sani Resort Gets Global Applause for Family, Cultural Tourism Offering

The Sani Resort in Kassandra, Halkidiki, won a triple distinction at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Grand Final Gala Ceremony 2022 held recently in Muscat, Oman.

The WTA, considered one of the most important and prestigious global tourism award institutions, recognized the Sani/Ikos Group resort this year as the World’s Leading Family & Beach Resort, the World’s Leading Luxury Green Resort and the World’s Leading Cultural Destination Resort.

“The triple awarding is an important recognition for Sani Resort and all our people, a distinction that certifies the principles, values and vision of our Group,” said Sani/Ikos Group Chief Sales & Marketing Officer Antonis Avdelas when accepting the awards.

He also underlined the company’s commitment to sustainable tourism as well as its aim to offer quality hospitality experiences to families and bring people closer together through nature, art and culture.

The resort won this title for the 4th consecutive year. Its recent expansion of Porto Sani now offers 50 new suites for families as well as extra areas with kids’ swimming pools and clubs.

Families can enjoy a multitude of activities at the resort’s Rafa Nadal Tennis Center or the Chelsea Football Academy or practice their skills at the Bear Grylls Survival Academy or the Sani Tree Top Adventure besides spending time at its 7 kilometers long beach.

Sani Resort’s distinction as the World’s Leading Luxury Green Resort for the third consecutive year solidifies its position as a leading green resort and highlights its continuous efforts to adopt sustainable practices, protect the natural environment and biodiversity and strengthen the local community.

As part of the Sani Green sustainability program, all hotels in the complex are powered by energy from 100% renewable sources. At the same time, having reduced single-use plastics over 90 percent since 2013, Sani Resort aims to eliminate them completely, as well as generate zero waste for landfill – through composting, reuse and recycling – by the end of 2024.

On the occasion of Sani Festival’s 30th anniversary, Sani Resort scored its first victory at the World Travel Awards this year as the World’s Leading Cultural Destination Resort.

The historic music festival, which is the largest private festival in Greece, takes place every summer at Sani Hill, hosting world renowned artists from the classical music field, but also from the jazz, pop & rock scene.
