Thessaloniki to Host ECTAA’s Semi-Annual Meeting 2022

Thessaloniki in Northern Greece will be the host destination of the European Travel Agents’ and Tour Operators’ Associations’ (ECTAA) Semi-Annual Meeting 2022 to be held during November 22-25.

The meeting will see representatives of tour operators and travel agencies from 29 European countries come together to discuss recent developments in European tourism policies, the post-covid era and the energy and cost of living crisis, which may affect tourism in the future.

The increase of tourism flows under a new pan – European strategic plan will also be part of the meeting’s agenda.

ECTAA is the umbrella organization of travel agents and tour operators across Europe representing over 70,000 members and has a mission to support growth and competitiveness in the European travel industry.

Following Thessaloniki’s event, a group of ECTAA members will participate in a three – day fam trip to Meteora, Volos and Pelio, Central Greece. The group will not only get to know the area’s strong tourism product but also inspect its infrastructure and how it can support the needs of digital nomads.

ECTAA’s Semi-Annual Meeting 2022 will run in the context of its “Preferred Destination” program which, in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO), this year promotes Greece to all EU member countries and international markets including Tunisia, Israel and Malaysia through a network of 35 affiliated federations of travel agencies and tour operators.

The meeting will be supported by the Federation of Hellenic Associations of Tourist & Travel Agencies (FEDHATTA) and Hellenic Association of Travel and Tourist Agencies (HATTA), the Regions of Central Macedonia and Thessaly, the tourism organizations of Thessaloniki and Halkidiki, the Thessaloniki Convention Bureau, AEGEAN, Mazi Travel & Events, Electra Hotels & Resorts and Valis Hotels.
