August Yield for Accommodation, F&B Services in Greece up 24.3%
Robust tourist flows to Greece in August boosted turnover for accommodation and food and beverage (F&B) services providers by 24.3 percent over the same month in 2021 to 1.898,372,089 euros from 1,527,864,341 euros, the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said this week.
More specifically, the greatest increase in August turnover compared to August 2021 was recorded in the regional unit of Kos up by 46.4 percent with the smallest increase (2.2 percent) was found in the regional unit of Lassithi, Crete.
Businesses offering accommodation services saw August turnover rise by 25.6 percent to 1,649,985,730 euros compared to 1,313,803,846 euros in 2021.
F&B services providers reported a 16.0 percent rise in gains in August to 248,386,359 euros from 214,060,495 euros in August 2021.
In July, both hospitality and F&B enterprises marked a 55.1 percent rise in overall turnover to 1.78 billion euros compared to the same month a year ago at 1.1 billion euros, ELSTAT said.
The data concerns accommodation and F&B enterprises obliged to double-entry bookkeeping for which data are available on a monthly basis.
