Emirates, the Dubai-based Emirates carrier that recently announced a major commercial agreement with United Airlines, took home five awards at the World Airline Awards 2022 by Skytrax.

Known as “the Oscars of the Aviation Industry”, the Skytrax awards this year saw more than 100 traveler nationalities participating in the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction survey to decide the winners.

Emirates won World’s Best Inflight Entertainment for the 17th consecutive time, World’s Best Economy Class and World’s Best Economy Class Catering. The airline also received top honors for Best Premium Economy Class Airline Seat and Best Economy Class in the Middle East.

At a time when cost-cutting has become the norm, Emirates says it will continue to elevate its product and service strategy in every cabin class.

Customers flying Emirates’ Economy Class, no matter where they choose to travel on the airline’s 130 destination network, are offered a menu infused with regional and seasonal flavours, and a dessert inspired by their destination.

Following the path of eco – consciousness and sustainability the airline also offers sustainably-made amenity kit bags for Economy Class customers on select long haul flights with the kit’s essentials made from environmentally – friendly materials.

At the same time, young flyers across all classes can keep busy with toys, blankets and other items made of 100% recycled raw materials including drinking bottles.

This latest recognition from Skytrax comes after the airline’s recent launch of its Premium Economy to overwhelmingly positive feedback.

It has also invested US$350 million for the next-generation inflight entertainment solutions for its 50-strong fleet of A350s and even created a flutter with a new CGI brand ambassador – Gerry the Goose.

The World Airport Awards by Skytrax began in 1999. The 2022 edition covered the 12 months from September 2021 to August 2022 with over 14 million eligible entries counted in the results.
