Travel Bloggers to Head to Peloponnese, Greece, for TBEX Europe Conference in 2023

The city of Kalamata in the Peloponnese, Greece, will be hosting next year’s TBEX Europe conference, one of the largest conferences, worldwide, for travel bloggers.

TBEX is a five-day event, during which a series of meetings, educational seminars and presentations will take place with the participation of internationally renowned experts, journalists, travel bloggers and social media influencers.

The Greek city of Kalamata was chosen as the host destination following the nomination submitted by the Region of the Peloponnese in cooperation with Greek tourism marketing company Mindhaus.

“We are very excited to partner with the Peloponnese Region to host TBEX Europe 2023 in Kalamata in May 2023,” Rick Calvert, the chief executive of TBEX, said.

More than 350 journalists, travel bloggers and influencers from all over the world will gather during 8 to 12 May 2023 in Kalamata to connect and be informed about the latest trends, strategies and tactics of the tourism market, but also to promote on social media the beauty and the unique experiences that the Peloponnese can offer visitors.

According to Calvert, the stunning natural beauty, incredible food, culture and unique history of the Peloponnese region are exactly the tourism forms that the community of travel bloggers loves to discover and create content about.

The TBEX Europe 2023 conference program will include networking evenings for delegates and familiarization trips throughout the Peloponnese.

“We look forward to seeing participants explore and share the fascinating stories that the Peloponnese region has to offer travelers from around the world,” Calvert added.

On his part, Peloponnese Governor Panagiotis Nikas highlighted that the region will be fully prepared to offer the TBEX delegates an experience that will exceed all expectations.

“The experienced team of professionals who will carry out the conference as well as those responsible for the infrastructure, hoteliers and residents, will all work together to organize a successful TBEX 2023,” Nikas said.

Greek Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias said: “This is a great achievement for the Region of Peloponnese, which, the Tourism Ministry supported from the very beginning… These specialized tourism professionals will meet in a blessed place as is the Peloponnese and this will be a great opportunity not only for its promotion, but also for the creation of a unique travel experience”.

It is noted that the Greek Tourism Ministry and the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) supported Kalamata’s nomination as host destination for TBEX Europe 2023.

“Hosting the TBEX event is a great success for the Peloponnese… This will be an excellent opportunity to showcase the entire region to the international travel community and for the area’s professionals to create lasting relationships and partnerships with key journalists, travel bloggers and influencers,” GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis said.

This will be the second TBEX Europe event in Greece following the TBEX Europe event held in Athens in 2014.

TBEX Europe 2014 was a sold-out event when it was held in Athens. Our average stay for TBEX attendees that year was 30 days. We expect a similar result for TBEX Europe 2023 in Kalamata,” TBEX’s chief executive, Rick Calvert, said.

On her part, Peloponnese Deputy Regional Governor for Tourism and Culture Anna Kalogeropoulou said the hosting of TBEX Europe 2023 will be a catalyst that will lead the Peloponnese into a new era.

“An era of new technologies, responsibility towards local communities and the environment, forming an even more strengthened and durable tourism product,” she said.
