Region to Promote Attica Wines in US, Canada, Japan

The Attica Region announced this week that it would be taking action to promote wines produced in the area to countries abroad including the United States, Canada and Japan..

A total of 20 wineries in Attica, members of the Union of Attica Wine Producers, will be participating with their wines which hold geographical indication (GI).

The wines will be promoted to markets in the US, Canada, the UK, Japan and Korea through a special program funded by the EU and running through to August 2023.

The program aims to showcase the wine production of Attica and includes masterclasses with prominent Μasters of Wine, seminars, vineyard tours, tastings, fam and PR trips, participation in international wine events, marketing and advertising actions as well as the design and publication of relevant educational material.

“The vineyards of Attica and their unique varieties are known for the excellent wines they produce. With European resources and the participation of distinguished experts, these wines will be promoted to targeted markets abroad with the aim of spreading the word about the wines of Attica and helping them gain recognition and sales,” said Attica Region Governor Giorgos Patoulis.

“I am confident that the vineyards of Attica, boasting a 2,500-year history, can look to the future with optimism,” he added.

Last year, the Attica Region and the Attica Wine & Food Experience Product Club agreed to promote the region as a wine, gastronomy and cultural tourism destination through a series of joint actions.
