Acropolis Museum: August Full Moon with the Hellenic Air Force Band

The Acropolis Museum in Athens will host a special event with the historic Hellenic Air Force Band to celebrate the August Full Moon 2022 on Friday, August 12.

The Band will perform Greek songs, film music and renowned melodies from abroad in the museum’s courtyard starting at 9pm.

The Hellenic Air Force Band consists of senior and junior officers who are also high-level musicians. Every year, the band takes part in international music festivals while it also leads the 5th Avenue parade in New York dedicated to the March 25 celebrations of Greek expatriates.

Major Alexandros Litsardopoulos is the band’s conductor. The August Full Moon concert will also host singers Elena Orfanidi and Aggelos Mousikas.

The Acropolis Museum on August 12 will be open from 8am until midnight, offering free admission for all visitors from 9pm onwards.

Visitors will have the opportunity to stroll through the museum’s galleries and enjoy the view of the Acropolis under the moonlight.

The restaurant on the museum’s second floor will operate during the same hours.
