The Greek northern city of Thessaloniki will be featured in an upcoming episode of the popular Israeli television show “Holy Land Uncovered” on channel i24news TV.

Broadcast in English and hosted by Emily Frances, “Holy Land Uncovered” is a weekly magazine about faith, religion and the history of destinations. The show also presents the gastronomy identity of destinations as an aspect of contemporary culture and reflects on their history and traditions.

Filming took place in Thessaloniki in July during a press trip held for the crew of Tel Aviv-based TV station i24news TV and organized by the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) in collaboration with the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO).

According to the Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, the press trip was organized to highlight the multicultural character of Thessaloniki, the historical connection of the city with the Jewish community and the Greek destination’s diverse historic and religious traditions.

The episode also includes an interview of the organization’s president, Voula Patoulidou.

The program of i24news is broadcast in English, French and Arabic. According to the GNTO, its viewers have a strong consumer profile and come from the fields of business, investments and technology.

The channel’s viewing figures exceed international TV giants such as BBC, CNN and France 24 in local markets.

In addition, over 1 billion households have access to i24news.

In efforts to attract visitors from Israel, the TTO has also launched an Israeli version of its official online tourism guide thessaloniki.travel as well as a Thessaloniki pocket-sized travel guide in Hebrew.
