Neptune Hotels Resort Shows it Cares for the Environment

Neptune Hotels Resort, Convention Centre & Spa on the Greek island of Kos recently held a cleanup event on the beach and seabed next to its premises.

Held on July 24 in collaboration with the Hellenic Marine Environment Protection Association (HELMEPA) and the Silent Explorers Diving Center, the event was part of the resort’s efforts to protect the environment.

“The concept of sustainability is part of Neptune Hotels’ culture,” the resort’s  General Manager Konstantinos Zarikos said.

Neptune Hotels invited both its staff and guests to participate in the voluntary activity.

People of all ages joined forces and gathered a significant amount of litter and items for recycling. More specifically, a total of 59 volunteers – including 22 children – took part in the initiative and gathered 22 kilos of waste.

According to Zarikos, the beachfront on the south side of Kos features a significant ecosystem, which must be preserved and protected.

“With this voluntary action held annually by the resort, we wish to contribute to our coasts’ cleanup. Most of all, we wish to pass on the message that the protection of marine and coastal ecosystems is everyone’s business,” he said.

The five-star Neptune Hotels Resort, Convention Centre & Spa is located near Mastichari on the island of Kos. It features luxury comfortable rooms, suites and apartments, as well as swimming pools, restaurants and bars, fitness and wellness facilities.
