Travel Insights: SKY express Becomes Case Study in Field of Google Ads
Greek airline SKY express achieved significant success as its website page views last year surpassed the levels of 2019 with the contribution of Google’s tools.
Using Google’s digital tools, namely Travel Insights, SKY express managed to achieve the best visibility for the company and a big increase in its passenger audience.
Through Travel Insights, the airline followed a targeted methodology and focused on campaigns in the most popular destinations, both in Greece and abroad, based on the searches made by internet users.
SKY express, in collaboration with mediacube, not only managed to record a success story with undeniable results in the field of digital advertising, which is now a case study in the field of Google Ads, but also to attract new passengers to Greece from various countries.
This ad was designed to attract international travellers to visit Greece in the summer. Sky Express also changed the language for French and Italian audiences.
According to thinkwithgoogle.com, recent figures by Eurocontrol showed that only three European airlines (out of the top 40) managed to recover in 2021 and overcome their traffic in 2019. One of them was the Greek airline SKY express.
Grylos: This is a success for SKY express and Greece
According the airline’s owner, Giannis Grylos, this is considered a success, which, apart from highlighting the dynamics of the airline, is also positive for Greece as it attracts visitors to the country and also highlights innovative practices of Greek businesses.
“At Sky Express we knew that in order to turn the pandemic into a growth opportunity, we would have to make significant investments and develop new innovative practices in every sector and this is what we have done in the field of digital advertising,” Grylos said.
“Along with the renewal of our fleet, we invested in the utilization of Google’s tools and managed to achieve the best visibility for our company and a big increase in our passenger audience. Google’s own promotion of our strategy and travellers’ warm response are a great reward for us.”
Improving data for summer 2022
For this year’s summer holiday season SKY express has developed an even deeper partnership with Google so they can see more up-to-date insights about travel.
“We are looking forward to the next stage in our digital advertising journey… We are still analysing search interest on a weekly basis, but this time we have access to more immediate data than that from the Travel Insights tool (which showcases data with a 7-day delay),” Grylos said.
With this upgrade, SKY express expects to further refine its marketing efforts and continue growing its sales in 2022 and beyond.
SKY express has the largest domestic network in Greece (34 destinations) and flies the youngest and greenest aircraft. Its fleet is one of the most environmentally friendly in Europe.
