Greece Attending the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival in London

Greece’s gastronomy and products will be presented at the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival that will take place in London during July 16-17.

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) will introduce Greek recipes and flavors to food lovers also interested in culture and luxury travel.

The annual National Geographic Traveller Food Festival is expected to attract over 6,000 visitors this year. Participants include major British tourism enterprises and national tourism organizations, while among the scheduled events are cooking seminars and workshops by renowned chefs.

“GNTO’s participation in this targeted event is part of its strategy to promote Greece through unique gastronomy experiences and provide potential travelers with incentives to choose the country as the ideal holiday destination,” Eleni Skarveli, head of the GNTO office in the UK and Ireland, told the Athens News Agency.

The GNTO will participate with two stands where representatives of Greek destinations will present local delicacies and wine varieties to the show’s visitors.

The organization will also promote local products and recipes in a total of seven events that will take place in the theater of London’s Business Design Center.

“British travelers love Greek cuisine. Our aim is for the event’s visitors to enrich their knowledge and flavors with local products and recipes that will take them on a ‘journey’ to Greece,” Skarveli added.

Deputy Tourism Minister Sofia Zacharaki will also attend the National Geographic Traveller Food Festival.
