GNTO, AEGEAN Support ‘Taste of Athens’ Gastronomy Festival

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and AEGEAN are supporting the “Taste of Athens”, a unique gastronomy festival featuring some of the Greek capital’s top restaurants.

Starting on July 7, the four-day event will feature 10 top restaurants of Athens’ gastronomy scene that will serve a special menu and signature dishes.

During the festival, visitors will have the opportunity to meet with top chefs, taste unique dishes, participate in interactive events and enjoy a vibrant program of music and entertainment with live performances and DJ sets.

According to GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis, the “Taste of Athens” is an important festival promoting Greek gastronomy through the creations of significant chefs and top restaurants in a period when Athens is full of travelers.

“Gastronomy is a cultural element linked to the identity and authenticity of every place. This festival is the best advertisement for the unique gastronomy experiences anyone can have in Athens,” he said.

The “Taste of Athens” will evolve around the following thematic pillars: circular economy; zero-waste philosophy; and gender equality.

The festival will open on July 7 with a welcome reception to be held by the GNTO and AEGEAN inside the Zapio mansion. The area will be transformed into an AEGEAN Business Lounge.

“Gastronomy is a basic element of our country and a significant part of tourism and this is why AEGEAN has chosen to promote this bright side of Greece,” AEGEAN Marketing Director Marina Valvi said.
