Athens’ Gallery Walk to Make 37 ‘Stops’ in the Greek Capital

Athens’ residents and visitors are invited to participate in the Athens Culture Net’s “Gallery Walk” events that are taking place in various locations around the Greek capital during Thursday and Friday (May 12-13).

“Residents and visitors in Athens will have the opportunity to experience two exciting evenings of art walks and become familiar with a wide range of modern Greek and international artwork – from paintings, sculpture and photography to ceramics, video-art performances and installations,” the Municipality of Athens said an announcement.

Organized in collaboration with Art Athina and the Hellenic Art Galleries Association, the Gallery Walk includes stops in 37 art galleries and other venues that will stay open until 8pm just for the occasion to receive visitors

Some art venues are presenting new exhibitions, while others are hosting artists that are keen on opening a dialogue with visitors.

The Gallery Walk is also joined by the municipality’s cultural, sports and youth organization (known as OPANDA) which presents exhibitions at five venues including the Olympia Theater and the City of Athens Arts Center near the city center.

More information on the events and the participating venues (in English and in Greek) are available here.

Admission to the Gallery Walk events is free.

All activities are taking place in accordance with the latest Covid-19 guidelines issued by Greece’s health authorities.
