As of May 1, the Hellenic Civil Aviation Authority (HCAA) abolished all Covid-19 aviation directives (NOTAMs) and lifted restrictions for domestic and international flights.

This means that those coming to Greece on international flights or traveling on domestic flights will no longer be required to show a Covid-19 vaccination certificate, recovery certificate or negative PCR/rapid test.

However, the mask mandate for indoor areas of airports (arrivals / departures) and while on all domestic and international flights is still in force.

“Staff and passengers are required to wear a protective mask in the arrivals and waiting areas of airports, as well as during air flights,” the HCAA said.

Greece as of May 1 has entered its “living with covid” phase and has activated a plan that will run into into the summer and includes, among other things, the suspension of Covid-19 vaccination and recovery certificates for entrance into restaurants and cafes; allowing all venues to operate at full capacity (100 percent); and scrapping mandatory mask-wearing outdoors.

Does this mean unvaccinated people are able to go into shops, bars and restaurants without any restriction or having to show proof of negative test?

Is any mask acceptable from 1st May, or is it the special N95/FFP2 masks or double masks? Has this changed for supermarkets/pharmacies, etc? Most travellers will only have standard masks.
