The Thessaloniki Tourism Organization (TTO) is promoting the city’s food and wine offerings through foreign media and organizations.
According to an announcement, the organization recently assisted and hosted journalist and foodie Diane Kochilas and her 11-member crew when they visited Thessaloniki to film an episode for “My Greek Table”.
In its fourth season, Kochilas’ TV show chose will shine the spotlight on Thessaloniki, “the only Greek city included on the UNESCO Creative Cities of Gastronomy list” the TTO said.
“My Greek table”, which presents Greece’s history and culture, is broadcast on PBS in the US and Cosmote TV in Greece.
Thessaloniki on the International Wine Review
Also, the TTO, in collaboration with the Central Macedonia Region and the Winemakers of Northern Greece, also hosted the creators of the International Wine Review (IWR) Michael Potashnik and Donald Winkler.
Launched in 2005, the bi-monthly magazine provides the wine trade (importers, distributors, retailers, sommeliers) and wine enthusiasts, with current and accurate information regarding important wines and regions of the world.
Apart from wines and wineries, the magazine and its website also promote the world’s wine regions as tourism destinations.
In addition, the reports of IWR focus on the world’s top regions and wines while the magazine facilitates contact between wine producers and importers.
It should be mentioned that a special report on the wineries of western, central and eastern Macedonia has been published on the website – www.i-winereview.com – of the International Wine Review.
