May 1 Strike in Greece to Keep Ferries Docked at Ports

Ferries in Greece are to remain docked at ports for 24 hours on Sunday, May 1, as the Pan-Hellenic Seamen’s Federation (PNO) will hold a 24-hour strike to mark Labor Day.

The strike, which will affect ships of all categories will run between 00:01 and 24:00 on Sunday.

According to an announcement by PNO, Greek seamen among other things are protesting unemployment, uninsured work and are calling for the signing of new, updated, collective labor contracts that meet modern needs.

Travelers that have booked ferry tickets are advised to check with their travel agents or contact local port authorities for further information.

No other announcements have been made at the moment that involve other means of transport.
