Thessaloniki Ready to ‘Connect’ with European Tourism Markets in May

The Thessaloniki Convention Bureau (TCB) will once again hold the CΟΝΝΕCT Tourism & Travel Event Thessaloniki to promote the northern Greek city and the wider region to the international tourism and MICE market.

Following an online event last year, CONNECT will take place as a live event for the first time at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall during May 8-10.

This year’s CONNECT event will include 28 hosted buyers from the European countries of Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, Switzerland, Romania, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia and Bulgaria.

“Select buyers from the European market will come to Thessaloniki not only to meet with the area’s professionals but also to get to know the destination, its infrastructure and the possibilities it offers,” Central Macedonia Deputy Governor responsible for tourism Alexandros Thanos said during a recent press conference.

Thessaloniki, Halkidiki and the Region of Central Macedonia will be represented by 35 tourism companies that will present their products and services to CONNECT’s hosted buyers.

The program of CONNECT 2022 includes:

– a three-day hospitality program in Thessaloniki for hosted representatives of foreign companies
– pre-scheduled meetings with a minimum number of 15 meetings per company
– networking opportunities during parallel events
– thematic tours, guided tours and a two-day familiarization trip to Halkidiki.

“Our main priority is to effectively promote the area. I believe that CONNECT will develop into an important tourism event for the city and the wider area, and a hub for the development of business activity and cooperation,” said TCB President Yiannis Aslanis.

Registration for the CONNECT 2022 event, for businesses active in the Central Macedonia region, is open at www.thessalonikiconventionbureau.gr.
