Rhodes Named Top Sustainable Destination for 2022

Rhodes has been named Top Sustainable Destination for 2022 by, an online platform connecting customers and car rental companies around the globe.

The list also includes the island of Santorini on the fourth spot.

To compile its Top 10 list, the company found the most trending destinations for 2022 on TripAdvisor.

Then, explored a number of factors that impact climate – for example the implications of a return flight to the destination, the total number of hotels offering EV charging points and the number of vegan restaurants the location offers.

Rhodes topped the list with a total score of 67 points out of 100.

The island scored high for offering the following sustainable options:

  • Hotels With EV Charging Points: 3
  • Number of vegan restaurants: 495
  • Number of nature spots: 73
  • Pollution level: Low

The island of Santorini is fourth on the list with a score of 63/100 points.

Santorini attracts thousands of visitors every year due to its stunning vistas, picture-perfect sunsets and iconic blue-domed skyline.

Its sustainability performance is determined by the following indicators:

Hotels With EV Charging Points: 1
Number of Vegan Restaurants: 343
Number of Nature Spots: 32
