Greece has partially lifted Covid-19 protocols for events and conferences allowing 100 percent capacity at exhibition spaces for vaccinated-only participants.

Speaking to ANT1 channel, Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias announced the news, adding that organizers were no longer required to provide live streaming (now optional) and could also distribute printed material and leaflets.

Kikilias said it was an important step in support of both event planners and organizers as well as year-round hotel operations.

According to media reports citing relevant draft legislation, organizers can opt for hybrid events and conferences allowing participation to non-vaccinated via live streaming.

Previous safety standards for the organization of conferences and events, included hybrid events, a 50-person cap on live participants, Covid management requirements, and simultaneous webcast for registered participants.

The revised rules (in detail) for the organization of conferences and events are expected to be released soon by the government.

Kikilias expressed his confidence that the upcoming months will be positive for the tourism sector and that the goal was to attract higher-spending tourists to the country.
