Alkyon Hotel Skiathos to Upgrade to 4-Star

The Alkyon Hotel Skiathos will undergo a major renovation to upgrade to a four-star property, according to an announcement by the new owner, Noties Sporades SA.

Budgeted at approximately 3 million euros, the project’s first phase includes the overhaul of the hotel’s central building, facade, exterior and interior public areas.

Located in the heart of the Skiathos town, the Alkyon Hotel will feature 94 rooms.

Noties Sporades SA is owned by the Derveni group, which also operates the emblematic Skiathos Palace hotel and other tourism enterprises on the island.

“The group continues its investment activity on Skiathos focusing on its philosophy to offer quality services and top-notch hospitality,” the owner said in the announcement.

The investment has been included in the National Development Reconstruction Plan of the Thessaly region.

Combining luxury and history

Once renovated, the Alkyon Hotel Skiathos will boast modern luxury elements but will also have maintained the distinctive architecture, special features and “feeling” of the 1970s.

To be carried out by HHH Architects, the project foresees the renovation of the hotel’s impressive living room; business office; main and pool bars; the rooftop bar that will offer unique signature cocktails and panoramic views of the Skiathos port; and the large roof garden where guests can enjoy breakfast.

The first phase will be completed with the renovation of the hotel’s front rooms which apart from their unique location and view, will also provide guests with all the comforts and facilities they need to enjoy their stay.

“The Alkyon Hotel Skiathos will be ready to welcome its visitors from Greece, Europe and the rest of the world with upgraded and certified services from May 2022,” Noties Sporades said.
