Kyvernitis Travel Group Shows its Dedication to Greek Shipping with New Podcast Series

Kyvernitis Travel Group, one of Greece’s leading providers of corporate and leisure travel and events services, recently launched a podcast series focused on Greek shipping. The initiative is designed to function as a platform for the people of shipping as well as inform on the history behind the industry that has been a key element of Greek economic activity since ancient times.

The Greek Shipping Podcast series

The Group’s love for travel and Greek shipping created “The Greek Shipping Podcast” – stories of shipping, seamanship and the sea. Through the initiative, Kyvernitis Travel aims for all:

– to learn of the experiences that the protagonists have to share;
– to listen attentively to what they have to say;
– to understand the philosophy they developed while working in this highly competitive industry;
– to listen to the advice they give to younger generations who have their sights set on the sea;
– and – through experiential stories – to learn the secrets that led Greece to be the world’s first shipping power, unfolding at the same time the history behind Greek shipping.

The episodes of the “The Greek Shipping Podcast” are available via Spotify, Apple & Google, as well as through the specially designed website: marketing.kyvernitis.gr/the-greek-shipping-podcast.

The inspiration of the initiative came from Manolis Vordonis, the honorary first guest of the “The Greek Shipping Podcast”, which was presented by Greek journalist Minas Tsamopoulos.

The first two episodes are online!

Episode 1: The first episode with Manolis Vordonis offers an excellent introduction to the roots of Greek shipping and the basic values that created the “Greek miracle”, with Vordonis sharing some of his personal experiences through his 40-year career as the Executive Director of the Thenamaris shipping company.

Episode 2: In the second episode of the podcast, Harry Vafias shared how at the age of 27 he led StealthGas in the stock market and thus became the youngest CEO of a shipping company, listed in any stock market worldwide.

A sneak peak of the upcoming podcasts!

Episode 3: Costis Frangoulis will discuss about the launch of Franman and the collaboration with the Far East, as well as the “Greek Miracle” in the global shipping industry and the opportunities it offers to young people.

Episode 4: George Tsavliris will focus on the complexity of the Ship Salvage Industry and the project “Adopt a Ship”. He will speak about the courage and strength one needs in order to deal with shipping and is expected to develop life philosophies through personal experiences.

Episode 5: Giannis Dragnis will unfold the yachting tourism opportunities in Greece and speak of the construction of mega yachts. He will also as share his point of view on issues concerning Co2 emissions and the future of shipping.
