Lufthansa Group: New Flights to Greece in Summer 2022

Greek destinations are included in the summer 2022 flight schedules of airlines of the Lufthansa Group.

According to an announcement, the Group’s 2022 summer flight schedule offers an expanded portfolio of attractive new destinations as well as frequency increases on current routes and the resumption of services.

In Europe, the Lufthansa airline will fly to six new vacation destinations from Munich, including Kalamata in Greece, Menorca in Spain, Varna on the Black Sea, Billund in Denmark and Bergen in Norway.

Lufthansa’s summer flight schedule will launch on March 27.

In addition, Lufthansa Group’s Eurowings Discover will also be taking off from Munich for 22 short- and medium-haul tourist destinations including Samos and Skiathos among the 12 Greek islands on its 2022 flight schedule. Moreover, Eurowings Discover will offer services from Frankfurt to nine Greek islands, the Canary Islands, Portugal and Turkey.

According to Lufthansa Group, intra-European connections from Frankfurt and Munich will almost reach the 2019 level with around 5,000 weekly flights.

With regard to its international schedule, Lufthansa from Munich will for the first time fly nonstop to Rio de Janeiro in Brazil and to San Diego in the United States. Bangkok in Thailand will also again be served directly from Munich in summer 2022. From Frankfurt, Lufthansa will add St. Louis in the US as a destination from June 2022. 

In Summer 2022 Eurowings Discover will fly from Munich to destinations in the Caribbean, Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, Cancún in Mexico and Las Vegas, Nevada (USA). From Frankfurt, the airline’s schedule will include flights to Las Vegas, Salt Lake City, Fort Myers, Anchorage, Halifax and Calgary.

Moreover, the Group announced that Lufthansa guests will be able to enjoy its most modern and economical long-haul aircraft, the Airbus A350-900, whose fleet in Munich is being expanded from 17 to 21 aircraft. In order to accelerate the modernization of its long-haul fleet, the Lufthansa Group signed leasing agreements for four additional Airbus A350-900s in the fall of 2021.
