GNTO Promotes New Greek Destinations to European Markets

Travel New Market 2021, Stockholm

The Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) recently began promoting new Greek destinations to tourism professionals in the Scandinavian countries, The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg.

As part of its communication strategy for 2021 and 2022, the organization’s service in Scandinavia participated as a partner in the Travel New Market 2021, a B2B event that took place in a central hotel in Stockholm on November 11. The aim of the event was to present new vacation spots and tourism products.

During the event, the director of the GNTO service in Scandinavia Pavlos Mourmas held meetings with leading tour operators including Apollo, Trawell, Sembo-Stena Line, Ticket Privatresor and Don Orient Tours, as well as 10 new partners. Discussions focused on future collaborations, the inclusion of new Greek destinations in travel packages, and new fam trips for 2022.

The Travel New Market 2021 was attended by over 800 executives of the local tourism market (travel agencies, airlines, tour operators, experts, buyers etc.) and journalists, as well as representatives of national tourism organizations from 30 countries.

Webinars in The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg

Following a number of online events for popular Greek destinations such as Halkidiki, Crete and the Ionian islands during April-June, the GNTO service in The Netherlands recently held webinars with the participation of 185 tourism agents from The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg to promote new alternative Greek destinations.

The organization presented the destinations of Volos, Pelion and Epirus and promoted the experiences they offer to visitors, their tourism infrastructure and sustainable development practices.

The webinars were supported by GNTO’s special platform www.linktogreece.com that operates as an online platform for professional meetings and the presentation of promotional material of destinations, tourism bodies and enterprises.

The GNTO announced that it will hold new webinars in the coming weeks to promote more Greek destinations and alternative tourism products.
