Executives of the Halkidiki Tourism Organization (HTO) had the opportunity to meet with German tour operators, travel agents and journalists during the German Travel Association’s (DRV) annual conference that took place recently at Costa Navarino in Messinia.

A significant annual event for the German travel industry, the physical conference was attended by over 400 representatives of Germany’s tourism and travel industry including OTAs. An additional 250 tour operators participated in the conference online.

The Halkidiki Tourism Organization took part in the DRV conference aiming to promote the region’s numerous popular destinations. During the event, its executives had the opportunity to present the destination and its comparative advantages to the conference’s delegates and also meet with major players of the German travel and tourism market.

The organization’s president, Grigoris Tasios, held meetings with TUI Group Director Corporate & External Affairs Thomas Ellerbeck and DRV’s president, Norbert Fiebig and CEO, Dirk Inger.

“The conference revealed the willingness of German travel agents to support the official opening of Greek tourism as of next March,” the organization said.

Held in Messinia during October 28-31, the conference was organized by DRV and the Greek National Tourism Organization with the support of the Greek travel agents association HATTA and confederation FedHATTA; the Region of the Peloponnese, Costa Navarino and Aegean Airlines.
