The multiple travel experiences that the destinations of Attica offers its visitors were presented to professionals and the French public during the annual IFTM Top Resa exhibition that ran in Paris earlier in October.

“France is among Attica’s main target markets,” the Region of Attica said in an announcement following its participation in the trade show.

The Region participated in the four-day event as a co-exhibitor of the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO). It welcomed a number of visitors and tourism professionals to its stand and offered information through audiovisual and printed material on the area’s multidimensional travel options.

Year-round tourism

Through its participation at the IFTM Top Resa, the Attica Region’s representatives promoted the area’s comparative advantages, safety features and attractive multidimentional destinations that are considered ideal for unforgettable holidays during all seasons.

“We wish to turn Attica into one of the most popular travel destinations in the world, by highlighting not only its entertainment options, but also the area’s many alternative forms of tourism,” Attica Governor George Patoulis said.

He added that the Region’s strategy to attract more visitors focuses on collaborations that promote health tourism; funding opportunities that promote the area’s ancient and modern culture; and key projects that offer added value to Attica’s cultural assets, tourism products and economy.

The Region of Attica was represented at IFTM Top Resa by Executive Regional Councilor for Tourism Promotion Thodoris Koutsogiannopoulos and Tourism Directorate Head Athina Kolyva.

Among the stand’s visitors were Tourism Minister Vassilis Kikilias, GNTO Secretary General Dimitris Fragakis and Head of Economic and Commercial Affairs at the Greek Embassy in France Emmanuel Stantzos.
