The Greek municipalities of Vironas, Kesariani, Agios Dimitrios and Ilioupoli in Attica are taking action to contribute to the reconstruction of four areas on the fire-stricken island of Evia.

During a meeting that took place in the Municipality of Mandoudi-Limni -Agia Anna last week, the mayors of the four municipalities of Attica announced their intention to offer administrative knowhow and assistance to the fire-hit communities of Evia.

More specifically, Vironas will “adopt” Evia’s Pappades Municipality; Agios Dimitrios will support the fire victims of Kerasia; Ilioupoli will contribute to the reconstruction of Achladi; and Kaisariani will take action in the area of Kotsikia.

“The aim is to develop a ‘twin city’ relationship and solidarity among residents,” the Vironas Municipality said in an announcement.
