US Travel Market Meets Greece’s Tinos Island at ASTA Global Convention 2021

The Municipality of Tinos presented the island’s unique nature and tourism offerings to US tourism professionals during the ASTA Global Convention 2021 that took place in Chicago during August 23-25.

Held annually by the American Society of Travel Advisors (ASTA), the convention is considered the top meeting place for tourism professionals and travel suppliers worldwide.

During the event, Tinos Mayor Yiannis Siotos presented the island’s promo video to over 2,000 attendees.

US tourism professionals also received printed material with much information about Tinos.

“This is a targeted action in an emerging market for Greece,” Siotos said during the event.

He also thanked the Greek National Tourism Organization (GNTO) and ASTA for their contribution to the island’s promotion in the US.

According to Deputy Mayor Evgenia Aloimonou, Tinos this year has managed to attract the interest of international markets through its innovative strategy to promote the island as one of Greece’s top quality destinations.

“We are looking into the US tourism market… We think that this action is ideal for this time of the year to attract more [tourism] professionals,” she said.

During the ASTA Global Convention 2021, the ASTA Greece & Cyprus Chapter was honored as International Chapter of the Year 2021.
